Panasonic enormous 152-inch television has gone on sale in Harrods for proportionately large amount of money – £600,000 ($950,000). Panasonic TV weighs 600kg will be found together with exclusives from BlackBerry, Fujifilm and Loewe to promote the opening of Harrods new technology department.
The TH-152UX1W model which prototype was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 2010, has four times as many pixels as a conventional high definition screen thanks to its 4K2K technology. It plays footage in 4096 x 2160 resolution and creates a separate 3D image in HD for each eye.
Harrods’ technology department will open on March 23. Beside this gigantic Panasonic TV, in a multitude of expensive cameras, loudspeakers and mobile phones, wealthy buyers can find limited edition Swarovski-encrusted BlackBerry smartphones and a £300,000 ($475,000) Jean Michel Jarre iPad.
