Paul Allen, the Microsoft cofounder was in news sometime last year for acquiring the 301-foot luxury yacht Tatoosh. And today it’s the same yacht that has bought him under limelight again. He has placed his Tatoosh up for sale through Fraser Yachts for €125,000,000 ($170 million).
Designed by Kusch Yachts and with an interior by Terence Disdale, the Tatoosh was built in 2001 by HDW Nobiskrug and refitted just this year. The boat is truly impressive. The yacht features nine guest rooms and two staff cabins. In addition to two helicopter pads, the steel-hulled yacht features a swimming pool and cinema. It can accommodate 24 guests and 35 crew members.
Though it’s not clear why the billionaire has decided to part ways with Tatoosh, he still remains the proud owner of the Octopus, a 414-foot sea craft.
Forbes recently ranked Allen, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma last fall, as the 37th richest person in the world with a fortune of $13.5 billion. He’s been falling on the Forbes list in recent years in part due to failed investments in companies such as Charter Communications. (In 2007, he was the 19th richest person on the planet).
