Art lovers have the opportunity to spend the night in a room that is a replica of Vincent van Gogh’s bedroom for only ten dollars. The Art Institute of Chicago has decorated the studio for rent that looks like a Van Gogh painting of his room in southern France. The room (a replica of one of the Dutch master’s famous “Bedroom in Arles”) which is located in Chicago’s River North neighborhood is advertised on the portal for rental – Airbnb, as if the artist himself rent it to raise money for the purchase of a paint.
Those who rent a room will receive tickets for “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms” exhibit at the Institute of Art (Art Institute of Chicago), which opens on Sunday 14 February and will run until 10 May.
Museum spokeswoman Amanda Hicks said that all terms for February immediately sold out within minutes of the announcement of the offer on Tuesday night. Further offers will be announced through social networks of Institute of Art. Another replica of Van Gogh’s room is made for the actual exhibition at the Art Institute.
