Exclusive watchmaker Richard Mille has designed a unique timepiece in support of Jackie Chan’s Dragon’s Heart Foundation. This unique timepiece, the RM 055 JC Tourbillon, created in collaboration with Jackie Chan and Mélanie Treton-Monceyron, Artistic Director to the brand, was sold for $860,000. That was the record sale of the charity auction in Beijing to benefit needy children from rural areas, that was held on September 14.
Richard Mille is delighted with the great result. The money raised from the sale of this exceptional watch will enable Jackie Chan to pursue his work with Dragon’s Heart Foundation, which helps less fortunate children in remote areas by constructing new schools, 20 of which have already been built since 2004.
The white gold timepiece with a white rubber strap includes the charity’s logo (including red, green and blue colours) —representing Chan holding the hands of two children—placed at the heart of the movement. The logo symbolises childhood, love and sharing. The words Foundation Jackie Chan are written on the back of the watch along with the actor’s emblem: a stamped dragon.
The RM 055 JC features a manual winding tourbillon with hours, minutes, power reserve indicator (circa 70h), torque indicator and function selector. Carbon nanofiber baseplate. Dimensions: 48,18 mm x 39,70 mm (widest point) x 13,95 mm (thickest area).
