An Australian American media mogul, Rupert Murdoch is obviously out of luck lately.Less than three months after filing for divorce from his third wife of 14 years, Wendi Deng, the 82-year old founder, Chairman and CEO of the News Corporation has listed his sailing yacht for $29.7 million. Stunning 184-foot yacht, named Rosehearty is ideal for both private and charter use and has been impeccably maintained. Launched in 2006, this sailing beauty features six cabins (full-beam master suite, two identical VIP staterooms, two doubles and a single with Pullman berth) where can accommodate 12 guests and 10 crew members. Christian Liaigre was in charge for interior design.
Described by Camper & Nicholsons International, which manage the yachts of the world’s richest people, Murdoch’s yacht is “majestic, innovative and full of character”. Rosehearty also boasts with lots of toys, including water skis, a wakeboard and full sets of diving gear. The deck features a large Jacuzzi. Wireless internet and plenty of plasa televisions are implied of course.
The main mast of the yacht towers at 193 feet, and it has a sail area of 16,792 square feet. It has a cruising speed of 13 knots, and a maximum speed of 16 knots. Back in 2009, Murdoch put his yacht up for rent for £181,000 ($286,000) per week, and it’s believed that he has been using it a lot less himself in the last few years.
