Italian shipyard Fincantieri Yachts has announced the successful delivery of their first ever superyacht Serene, the ninth largest yacht in the world. The 440-ft. Serene was designed by the internationally renowned Espen Oeino to offer seven spacious decks, a hangar, two helicopter pads and a large sea-water swimming pool which can accommodate a service craft and submarine with a diving depth of up to 100m.
There are 4,500 square metres of interior space including 2,700 square metres of super-luxury designed by Pascale Reymond from Reymond Langton Design, one of the most famous designers in the industry. The yacht, hull 6154, is designed and built according to the rules and regulations of SOLAS, the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, which will give the yacht worldwide leading edge in terms of safety.
$300 million Serene is the only Italian-built yacht among the world’s top 25. The only yachts larger than Serene anywhere in the world belong to sultans, kings, Emirs, Roman Abramovich, David Geffen and Paul Allen. This remarkable vessel is historic in a sense for yet another reason. She’s the first yacht contract that Fincantieri signed. Until that point in 2006, Fincantieri had concentrated on cruise ships, ferries, naval vessels, and offshore vessels like container ships.
Meanwhile Fincantieri have already started work on an even bigger Oeino-designed yacht, dubbed Victory. At 459 ft. she will likely be the world’s 5th largest yacht when complete.
