Automotive-themed timepieces have been well received in the world of horology. The famous French designer Fabien Cacheux has unveiled the new Silver Arrow GT Series concept watch in honor of the new Mercedes SLS AMG.
Part of the designers GT series, this watch features a central tourbillon, power reserve, machined titanium casing and a neoprene strap while the tachometer needle has a three star-shaped emblem that reflects the brand. What is more, the bracelet of the watch again evokes the beauty of the super car by opening and closing like the car’s gullwing doors.
Probably the most interesting feature of Cacheux’s new concept watch are the ‘open’ and ‘close’ buttons surrounding the crown that can open and close the car remotely. This means the owner is allowed to control access to the car just by using this watch.
This idea is similar to the one of the Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX 2 DBS Transponder watch which can also open and close the doors of the DBS in addition to turning the lights on and off.
Details are sketchy at the moment, as there is no word whether this watch will become a reality or no, but the idea behind the Silver Arrow Concept timepiece is quite attractive and it would appeal to Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG owners.
