Ferrari vehicle sold for $250,000. It might sound unimpressive compared with the 1963 model Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for $52 million. But what if tell you that the car is completely smashed. Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 from the 1970s, totally crashed recently sold for a quarter million dollars at Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain (FIAC) in Paris last week as contemporary art.
French artist Bertrand Lavier is behind this unusual project, dubbed 1993 found-object sculpture “Dino”. It still remains a mystery why anyone would spend $250,000 on a totaled Ferrari, when a good Ferrari Dino GT4 can be found for about $33,000. Hey, but that’s piece of art. I obviously don’t understand “modern minimalist impressionism”.
