Production department of Nokia’s ultra-luxury smartphone Vertu, has finally unveiled yet another luxury smartphone, the Vertu Constellation Quest Ferrari inspired by the Ferrari 458 Italia sports car. The handset is part of Vertu’s Constellation series and is manufactured in collaboration with Italian supercar maker Ferrari. In fact, the phone seems to be featuring a special Cavallino key, which enables access to Ferrari content.
Vertu and Ferrari have been partnering together since 2007 to create phones that match the legendary Italian supercar, but the 2012 Constellation collection is the first smartphone to come from this legendary design team. All hand-crafted, everything from Vertu is as exceptionally designed as are the Ferraris themselves.
The luxury smartphone is reportedly mirrored after the Ferrari 458 Italia sports car and crafted from materials similar to a Ferrari, like stainless steel and titanium. Even the leather that wraps the phone is a direct descendent from the Italian line that Ferrari used to create the fabulous GT interior.
Exclusively crafted and cut to shape, the sapphire crystal keymat makes up the face of the Constellation Quest Ferrari. In addition, the made in Italy bespoke leather slip case incorporating the key design elements of Ferrari complements and safeguards this priceless gem. The smartphone comes coated with the Ferrari engine coating, delivering unbelievable resilience and ability to resist abrasion and pressure.
To give the phone a touch of the Ferrari magic, Vertu has incorporated an exclusive analogue clock and calendar inspired by the rev-counter on the Ferrari 458 Italia. The phone’s titanium battery cover has the proud Cavallino Rempante, Ferrari’s symbolic prancing stallion emblem, in polished stainless steel.
Driven by Symbian v9.3, S60 3rd Edition OS along with ARM 11 processor, this one comes with 512 MB of flash memory and 128 MB RAM. Besides, the phone packs a 2.4-inch display screen with 320 x 240 pixel resolution, a 5MP rear camera and a VGA one on the front. The camera specs are far behind the present industry standards but this one is supposedly made to just add dollops to your style statement. The makers also claim that each of these handsets have been built by just one craftsman who signs the handset as an assurance of Vertu’s commitment to quality.
Owning one of these handsets comes with a set of privileges. Once the customer registers the handset with Vertu Concierge, they are given a key to the world of Ferrari. Users will be afforded access to unique Ferrari content and experiences, which are otherwise enjoyed by only by some privileged few.
Vertu has not yet announced the price of its latest luxurious mobile phone. [Vertu]
